In my time it was something closer to middle age and later. I had an impossible time finding anyone even close to my own age. Now it seems like people start seriously considering transition when they're still teenagers.
Or is this still more the exception rather than the rule?
If you look on sites like
http://www.transgenderdate.com you see mostly girls in their early to mid 20s. But that could also be a result of the demographic that uses social networking and dating sites like that.
And if it is mostly girls in their early or mid 20s... what happened to all the girls in my own age group (I'm 31)?
Well I "officially" transitioned when I was 21....
Though when I was four and especially in Kindergaten I knew I was to be a girl...
I was angry that they they could be girls and I had to dress as a boy..
I painted my nail though when I was thirteen up until sixteen even seventeen,
Wore panties ,basically anything I could wear daily and not always be seen/caught...
However Being raised in church I also knew to hide and even try to get rid of my transexual "tendencies"
I even joined the military hoping that they could man me up.
Or beat the (expletive) out of me.
I still wish I wasn't a Transexual rather just a "normal" woman.
So yeah I think as our country becomes more enlightened you will see younger kids coming out.
I mean were still hearing stories of Trans women transtioning or having SRS as octogenarians...
Also though when I hit hit puberty I never really "maled other that getting ffacial hairl.
My voice neve changed.
I was always told to get some bass or I was "sweet" menaing I had sugar aka I was a (expletive)
So yeah there is no set age really.
Nor average...
PS I'll be thirty one on December 2nd...
