Honesty is very important. If you don't talk it over with her, then you will be even more unhappy in the future. You can't always have everything you want. My relationship is one where I'm the female partner of a transwoman. She thought she wanted a husband, too. However, there are lots of ways where even though I'm genetically a woman, I fit the gender role of husband better. We've worked things out between us in our own way. There's more than one way to live.... but it's important to be honest through it all. You might be pleasantly surprised.
