What the F is this?

ze

A gender neutral/ambiguous pronoun, paired with hir (pronounced "here"). The two usages below represent different takes on what it should be used for.

1)A pronoun for a person which makes no assumptions about a person's gender.

2)A pronoun for a person who does identifies outside of the gender binary, who prefers neither "he" nor "she".
1)What a hottie! I don't know what gender ze is, but I wonder if ze'll give me hir phone number.

If someone comes by looking for you, what should I tell hir?

2)Feinberg is probably most famous for hir 1993 book, _Stone_Butch_Blues_.

What are we, German now? Seriously.... people! I mean I have no problems with the eventually conquering by my people of gender stereotypes, but lets do one thing at a time... You can bring stuff like this in to the picture when America isn't confusing Cher's son with the guy on that Rosanne Barr show. Okay... it's a bit funny... but if we made a similar comparison based on race with someone... the room would go silent?

Uhm... Seriously? I mean this has got to be a joke! Is the idea to pass this into common language? :s

Is this whole thread a joke? There's nothing wrong the ze pronoun. The goal isn't common language, per se. The goal is finding a pronoun that works for you. It may only reach as far as friends and family whom you explain it to and that fine.

I would use "ze" but it sounds like too much explaning and my family wouldn't use it anyway.

There's a lot wrong with "Ze" because it's complete superfluous nonsense. If Trans-people concentrated on that which really mattered rather than relabeling themselves every 5 seconds, then we'd all be a lot further along then we are in soceity.
